Hi, folks. My wife and I had replaced the radio in our last car with one that received the extra digital stations (notably the NPR stations that play BBC World Service), and we missed that when we got our C-Max, so we sprang for SiriusXM service in order to get our BBC fix. Unfortunately we find the quality of the satellite tuner is really poor... everyone sounds like they're talking in a tin can, and after a while it really grates on my ears. The sound quality on the regular radio or CD player is fine, and other people's SiriusXM tuners don't sound that way, it just seems to be a chintzy tuner in the car.

Is there anything that can be done about that? Is there some way to upgrade the satellite tuner to one that decompresses better? I know I could buy a portable satellite radio and just plug it into the car, but I'd rather use the car's antenna if I can. Unless the antenna is the problem? I don't know. Thoughts?
