Ford C-max Energi Availability

Ford has been building and selling the Ford C-max to the European and the Japanese markets since 2009. The Ford C-max Energi is built on the same platform, and should offer the same reliability.

The Ford C-max Energi Plug-in Hybrid electric vehicle was unveiled at the 2011 North American International Autoshow. At the auto show, Ford announced that the Ford C-max Energi plug-in hybrid would be launched in North America in 2012. The Ford C-max Energi release will include Canada and the USA, and the Ford C-max Energi will arrive in late 2012 as a 2013 Ford C-max Energi. The Ford C-max Energi will be available the following year (2013) in Europe.

Initially, the 2013 Ford C-max Energi will be available in 19 select markets: Atlanta, Georgia; Austin, Texas; Boston, Massachusetts; Chicago, Illinois; Denver, Colorado; Detroit, Michigan; Houston, Texas; Los Angeles, California; New York, New York; Orlando, Florida; Phoenix, Arizona; Portland, Oregon; Raleigh-Durham, North Carolina; Richmond, Virginia; San Diego, California; San Francisco, California; Seattle, Washington; Tucson, Arizona; and Washington, D.C.
Some users on the Ford C-max Energi Forum state that the Ford C-max Energi will be available October 22, 2012.

For the moment, we own the only CMax Energi in San Diego (the rest are set to be delivered in two days). It is now Day 4 of ownership of our new Ford C-Max Energi Plug-In, and I can tell you that the car is fantastic. It was difficult deciding between the Toyota Prius, Nissan Leaf, and Ford CMax Energi, but after much research and personal experience (we presently have two Nissan Leaf’s in our nuclear family and my brother-in-law traded in his Prius two years ago), we went with the Ford CMax Energi. My husband and I are car enthusiasts and buy a new one every two years. I had been watching Ford vehicles over the past 3 years and have been nothing but impressed with the technology and new body styles. It was enough to make me trade in my gorgeous Volvo XC90 for the average looking Ford CMax Energi. So far, I haven’t missed my luxury car because I’m having so much fun inside of my CMax. Plus, I get a lot of attention from other drivers and people in the grocery store parking lot. I’m giving the Ford CMax Energi an A- (the minus is only because there are no drivers seat memory buttons).
And to debunk any crazy ideas that the insurance will go up 60% (as mentioned by a commenter on another blog), the insurance for the CMax is less than our other two cars, both of which are Volvos (a 2008 XC90 and a 2013 SC60).

Great info, thanks so much for sharing! It’s interesting yo know you came from luxury Volvos and are still impressed with the Ford C-max Energi.
